Operation 2 Mission 2 Briefing


Operation 2 mission 1 After action Report.

The players entered the riverbed and were ambushed by a patrol of vehicles some carrying elementals. Wildonion and Chinra were able to join early on. Minor damage was suffered and the players pressed on all the while being harassed by a hawk moth. Additional reinforcements came from the destroyed dam but were a minor nuisance. The players entered the lake bed only to discover that it was all mud. We utilized the rules from tac ops for Mud. A hovercraft and 3 points of elementals greeted the players backed up by a shadowcat prime. The fire scorpion and Sunder took the brunt of fire and a few swarm attacks. The fire scorpion fell back while the sunder made an amazing roll swatting an elemental off his cockpit. The shadowcat took severe damage and fell back to the support of his star mate. A summoner D emerged from underground and promptly destroyed the cockpit of the Sunder and the  Blackhawk. The shadowcat quickly fell as well as the summoner to 3 engine hits.

Operation 2 Mission 1


Operation 2 Briefing


Mission 3 & 4 After action Report.

This mission lasted over a month of gaming.
It started with a Jenner IIC, 2 Shamash, 2 LRM carriers and a Hunchback IIC approaching the players. There were heavy losses and multiple head hits. Redgrave activated Sumo and Plainsrider on Map 4 in an attempt to bolster their numbers. But when the 2 players activated so did the clan 'Mechs near them. A Clint IIC, Fire Scorpion, Conjuror and a Firestarter Omni all attached the no longer hidden units. Plainsrider's raptor was swiftly destroyed and Sumo's Blackhawk was legged knocking the pilot unconsious. Without his reinforcements Redgrave fell back to a defensive position and repaired between taking shots from incoming 'Mechs.

Not going to lie I thought the players were all done for and the campaign would be over here. But the dice decided to grace the players. Between swapping in and out of 'Mechs and completing field repairs they slowly made a comeback. One LRM carrier actually ran out of Ammo and fell back to re arm giving the players the breathing room they needed. Once they pushed forward again the Conjuror, Firestarter Omni and a Shadowhawk IIC with 2 Bulldogs joined the fight for an attempt at ending the mission. the players fought valiantly and were able to barely stave off the attack causing the Shadowhawk IIC to retreat. Again field repairs were conducted but while this was ongoing the Shadowhawk IIC returned to die a warriors death succumbing to the onslaught of the active 'Mechs.
With no further force pushing the players they had ample time to repair and refit taking out any turret and building. They pushed forward only to be greeted by the Fire Scorpion, Clint IIC and a modified Catapult mounting 12 C LRM5's and 2 C MPL. Again the players took a beating but prevailed.

I had to give the players each 2 edge at one point for a brief time but otherwise this was a rough mission. At the end I allowed 4 changes to be awarded. One pilot may lower their Gunnery, One pilot may lower their piloting, One pilot may change their weapon skill and one pilot may change their 'Mech class. but no pilot may repeat.

Repairs and salvage were completed. I was unable to keep track of all of it as this mission went on for a long time and we did repairs on the fly updating the sheets.

Mission 2 After Action Report

The players Picked up from the starting MFB's and were greeted  by two APC's and a modified Raptor. Two additional Medium 'Mechs a Lynx and Blackjack Omni joined shortly after the vehicles were destroyed. The Smoke jaguar forces did a good job of luring the players towards the heavy missile platform armed with 4 ATM 3's with increased range profiles. The players were able to destroy the raptor and heavily damage the lynx. The lynx however fell it water flooding its side torso. the Blackjack pilot suffered a worse fate taking a Gauss rifle to the head after sustaining severe damage. Red Grave's Bushwacker fell in battle after losing an entire side torso. The players were greeted by 2 SRM carriers and point of elementals from the barracks. The players easily dispatched of these staying at range. After field repairs and reload they ventured forward towards the blind spot of the Turrets. There 3 tanks awaited. 2 Manticore's and a Chevalier. Minor damage was sustained by these and the turrets were destroyed. The MFB's moved to the hill and repairs and salvage were allocated.

Mission 1 After Action Report

The players began in level 1 water by the fishing village and were rushed by vehicles and one light 'Mech. After dispatching most of the vehicles a second light 'Mech engaged and worked with his star mate in an attempt to lead the players closer to the turrets.
In the end the players were able to overpower the scout Nova and successfully took out the communications facility linking up with their MFB's

Although this was a complete success the players took significant damage.

Introduction


Rule Overview

Classic Battletech rules with expanded critical hits.
8 Mechs start in two drop ships.
After Operation bulldog, follows ‘Mech 3 story Mechs changed.
Pilots start with a 3 gunnery skill and 4 piloting skill.
Each pilot may select one weapon class skill and one ‘Mech class skill.

Mech class skills:
-1 to all piloting skill rolls Choose one class.
Light Mech, Medium Mech, Heavy Mech, Assault Mech

Weapon Class Skills: - 1 when firing a weapon of that class
Small Arms (Small class lasers, Flamers, Machine Guns, Anti Personal Weapons)
Medium Lasers (All Medium class lasers)
Large Lasers (All Large class lasers)
PPC’s (All PPC Class Weapons)
SRM (All forms of SRM)
LRM (All forms of LRM)
Alt Missile (All forms of MRM, T-Bolt, ATM)

Omni Mechs can build pods but for every roll less than target increase unbalance by that roll.
Obvious unbalanced builds increase difficulty accordingly
Armor repair = -2 Like for like cannot change armor type on Mechs.
